Our educational goal is to create responsible global citizens through a global education. And it is this commitment that has driven the unified educators of the Foundation to develop programmes and practices that nurture students to become global thinkers. The one-of-a-kind bilingual, bi-cultural education methodology created by the Foundation is shared among our international network of schools that span two continents.
In a concerted and global effort, each YCIS uses the educational methodology as the cornerstone for the development of their programmes for infant and toddler kindergarten through primary and secondary education. Using input from individual schools, the Foundation determines which programmes or practices work best. This knowledge helps us constantly refine and update the philosophy and methodology of YCIS’ unique educational system.
The Foundation has even set up divisions to provide services and support to schools in various areas of education. For instance, the Chinese Curriculum Research Division has developed a Chinese as Additional Language curriculum that has proven to be superior to other Chinese language curricula. This curriculum was first used in Hong Kong and Shanghai schools and because of its educational effectiveness, is now applied to all other YCIS.
Uniform educational programmes and practices created through the Foundation also allow students to apply for a transfer to any school in the YCIS international network in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Chongqing and Qingdao in China and Silicon Valley in the USA.
