Dear colleagues and supporters,

Donation reached HK$1.45 million for Y.C.- S.E.E.D. Operation

We are very thankful to announce that the fundraising target for Yew Chung Sichuan Earthquake Educational Development Operation (Y.C.- S.E.E.D. Operation) has been successfully reached. World Vision has received approximately HK$1.45 million from Yew Chung as of today. Because of your generous donation, we are blessed to raise more than 80% of the total building budget and have been granted the right to name the teaching block. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to every single donor for your unfailing support.

In early June, two Yew Chung representatives, Rev. Yan Shu Yun and Rev. Alex Chi, made our first visit to Minzhu Primary School to participate in the ground-breaking ceremony of the school reconstruction project. The representative team also brought along the presents donated by our parents and students to show our care and love to the students there. Reported by World Vision, the construction progress has been satisfactory and our targets are expected to be completed in March 2010. Some pictures of this memorable ceremony and the construction sites are attached for sharing. 

In the future, Yew Chung Schools will not only arrange volunteer teams to visit Minzhu Primary School, but also will organise different community services to the rehabilitation work of the students there. We call for your suggestions and opinions to carry out this plan and to make best use of this learning opportunity for our students. In the meanwhile, we will closely communicate with Minzhu Primary School and World Vision to further understand their needs.
