Every day we witness the exciting growth of YCCECE students as they advance along the pathway of becoming Yew Chung Educators. We are deeply grateful to be celebrating the first two staff donations the College has received, which contribute toward a sustainable future of high-quality Early Childhood Education.
Heartfelt thanks to Joyce Chen, our Chief Technology Officer, for her generous gift in creating a scholarship for students who pursue degree studies in Special Education. Yew Chung founded one of the first kindergartens in Hong Kong some 85 years ago, pioneering what were then the radical concepts of Early Childhood Education (ECE).
Today, true to its ECE roots and educator heart, YCEF is proud to introduce an ambitious, on-going project: The creation of Yew Chung College of Early Childhood Education (YCCECE), a tertiary teacher training college in Hong Kong, upgraded from Yew Chung Community College, with a new campus slated to open in 2018!
Let's begin with YCCECE's visual identity:
❨❩ Latitude and longitude - a homage to master Tai-keung Kan's original logo design, we pared it down to the Earth's lines and celebrated them
❨❩ Tertiary Education - the beginning of complex, endless discovery of our positions in the world, of ourselves
❨❩ True East x West bespoke typeface - English is Yew Chung Display; Chinese is Yew Chung Ming 耀明體. English R has the Chinese-like stroke 捺; Chinese character 敎, in its ancient form, has the English-like X
❨❩ Early Childhood Educators - shapes of humans (人) cradling, guiding, supporting each other

At 85, Yew Chung has begun the sprint towards a century of holistic education, and we are moving ahead in style. First, a major school uniform revamp. Now, Yew Chung Education Foundation gets its own new identity!
❨❩ New logo and brand colors - distinct yet echoing the existing YCIS identity
❨❩ Bespoke typeface - English is Yew Chung Display; Chinese is Yew Chung Ming 耀明體
❨❩ New identity distills the Yew Chung ethos to their core: the origin, the globe, the true East x West blend, the infinite rippling cycles of education
The brand new YCEF has arrived.
YCEF proudly presents: the all new, unified, streamlined, inclusive, classic-timeless-flattering, history-legacy-honoring, high-end-fabrics-made school uniforms!
Crafted by our fashion-designer-alumna Christine, they will make all Yew Chung schools smart, the Yew Chung brand trendy, and the Yew Chung kids comfortable - with the freedom to be who they are.
