YEW CHUNG SPOTLIGHTS

We strive to strengthen the bond of our network of schools by highlighting the Yew Chung spirit and serving the wider community.

Alumni Family Fun Day 2020 Recap

Thank you for the good weather, Alumni Family Fun Day 2020 was successfully held. Under the guidance of our Yew Chung educators, children explored Pamela Peck Discovery Space (PPDS). Little talented “performers” sang and danced on stage while potential “make-up artists” were busy helping adults to make hair and wear make-up at backstage. “Architects” built roads and tunnels. “Adventurers” climbed up and down to overcome obstacles outdoors.

Learning Is to Discover the Undiscovered – Haruka Ostley

Haruka is a multidisciplinary artist (painter/ muralist/ performer) who hails from Japan. Growing up and living across four different continents allows her to easily work with people from different backgrounds, and has given her art work a bigger variety and style! Both Haruka and her husband Gabe Ostley used to work as Artists-In-Residence in YCIS Hong Kong and eventually worked in different campuses across China. Although Haruka left Yew Chung in 2014, her story with us doesn’t just end there!

Yew Chung Yew Wah Alumni Gathering in Shanghai 2020

YCEF Alumni and Friends would like to invite you to our YCYW Alumni Gathering in Shanghai. This event will  provide an opportunity to reconnect with your fellow alumni across the Yew Chung Yew Wah network. An alumni panel will be present before the networking.

Alumni Family Fun Day 2020

In 2019, Yew Chung College of Early Childhood Education (YCCECE) and Pamela Peck Discovery Space (PPDS) were grandly opened in May. YCCECE is the very first and only specialist higher education institution in ECE in Asia while PPDS is a specialist play space on campus, designed for children and families from birth to eight, aiming to actively promote innovative best practices in ECE. Our foundation can reach such a successful and meaningful milestone because of the support and trust from many parties and friends.

Looking Back at The Subtle Beauty of Yew Chung After 16 Years!

What a reunion after 16 years! Karen Leung, our YCIS Hong Kong alumna from class of 2003, was one of the first groups of students  to go through the tremendous changes Yew Chung had. Recently, she finally had the chance to meet with a former senior management member of ours, Dr Gary Morrison, whom he was the reason for those changes happened in Yew Chung!

Seoul Alumni Gathering 2019 Recap

It was an awesome threehours at LIT Coffee & Beer in Seoul, drinking and catching up with our alumni community for our second Seoul Alumni Gathering! Thank you all for coming and I hope you all had a great time; our event wouldn’t have been successful without you all! A special thank goes to Mr Jinwoo Hwang, our YCIS Shanghai Puxi alumnus. He is also our South Korea alumni representative who initiated and helped a lot with co-ordinating this event!
